In April 2015, the Government of Malta launched the National Reform Programme (NRP) highlighting national targets that should be met by 2020 (document

attached). The NRP shall be the main guiding document for Regions to ensure that any Priority Intervention Areas proposed are in line with the plans at national and European level. Throughout the formulation of a tangible and realistic plan, the main focus should shall be divided into seven chapters that cover background and context, the existing situation and the details of the plan and a set of strategic recommendations that can be implemented at a regional level.

 

The final aim of this funding shall be to collate the five regional plans and publish a national strategic plan that shall be constitute the opinion of Regional Committees, Local Councils and Administrative Committees within the context of the National Policy for Local Government of the Maltese Islands.
